Unlike me, it seems kids these days attend their scheduled classes-because they sure haven’t been plugging up the rivers. I seldom made it to class and that is probably why I attended the University for 6 years and why my office is a fly shop. Whatever the reason is, the river is empty. One boat here, one there, and the handful of boats from Hamilton that pile into the same stretch of the West Fork no matter what time of year it is. Fishing remains strong with Tricos, Hecuba, and Hoppers at the head of the list. Pick your favorite stretch and enjoy the fact that the Hecuba hatch has yet to evoke the hoards of anglers that the Skwala does.
